about
"I already did a release concerned with child-abuse before ("Grief" in 2011),
but this year I came across a story on the internet that really struck me and I decided to do another one because
I think it's so important to talk about this topic and understand
how severely physical/sexual/psychological abuse destroys children.
Eva Ionesco is the daughter of a Romanian-French photographer called Irina Ionesco.
Her mother used her as a nude model for her photography-work at an age of only 10-11 years.
The pictures were of erotic nature and bordered pornography;
selections of these photos were even published in Playboy and Penthouse magazines.
Shortly afterwards, at about age 12, the girl starred in a movie with several scenes with explicit nudity,
close-ups on the sexual organs and simulated sex.
The 1977 movie is highly controversial in most countries of the world and
it was finally banned in Germany for child pornography in 2006.
Books with the nude photos of the child are still freely available without problems,
because they are classified as art. For me, this is maybe the sickest aspect of it all...
The girl from the 70s is now a grown-up woman, actress, photographer and film-director.
She tried to remove the nude photographs of herself as
a child from the public several times and sued her mother for taking child-pornographic pictures of her,
but received only partial compensation.
Then again, what amount of money can really compensate such a childhood...?
